Young Eagles: The Spirit of Aviation

If this Piper Cub looks like the stuff dreams are made of then you and Cavan are of like minds. June 2014 not only marked the end of 6th grade but also (and if you ask Cavan, more epic) the first time he flew a real, live airplane. Not bad for an 11 year old.

While visiting Jeanie and Pop in Easton, Pop had the swell idea of contacting a pilot friend to see if he'd be up for taking a Tween airplane lover for a quick spin. Little did that Tween know he was about to have the experience of a lifetime.

Pilot Hunter Harris gave Cavan a flight training lesson and introduced him to the EAA Young Eagles program. Once in the air, Hunter turned the controls over to Cavan and set off on a 45 minute air adventure. Back on the ground, Cavan was given his very own flight log that details his first amazing voyage.

And voila! A Young Eagle is born! Thanks Pop for making a Tween dream come true! xx
