Sitting Pretty

This week we reached yet another milestone...sitting up.  It's been a week full of accelerated development from holding the bottle on her own and sitting up, to experimenting with new sounds and grabbing her toes.  A fascinating process to watch.  Two parents (and a swelling with pride Big Brother) couldn't be more smitten.

And for all you music lovers...a little Stevie Wonder.

Hot Mess

The only time in your life when food running down your chin is considered charming.  Live it up Miss Lu.

Happy Birthday to Daddy!

Mommy wrapped them, Big Brother Cavan handed them out and I helped Daddy with the fun part.  I can't wait for MY birthday!

March 19th, 1973

Piled the family in the Charger, cranked "Killing Me Softly" and took our place in line at the gas pump. Made it home in time to see Billy Jean King kick Bobby Riggs' ass.  Helluva day.

There are simply no words.

To describe the feeling you get when you come home after an hour and a half morning walk along the East River with your family and you discover a moment like this was captured is simply impossible. Cuteness overwhelms.

Lulu's 1st Swing....

...well, really the second.  About three minutes before this happy snap, an over zealous Mommy and Daddy shoved this poor little girl into one of the toddler swings at the park.  Toddler swing, not infant swing.  Everything was going well until we actually tried to make her swing, at which point she bonked her head and let the tears roll.  Nice work, Mom and Dad.  Good...excellent...really.

Fat Fat Water Rat

Our little buddha gets cuter, happier and, um, fluffier (to quote Grandma Owings) every day.  This pic just does NOT do her amazing legs justice.  They are simply delicious.  Squishy, fat and yummy.  Cutest damn things we've ever seen!

Dancing on the Ceiling

It's quiet.  And just when you're congratulating yourself on successfully getting the baby down to sleep, you creep in to take a peek and see.....maryjane socks tapping to the beat of the rhythm of the night.  A dancing queen in training.

Five Tiny Trees for Five Tiny Grandchildren

Over the weekend in Denison, TX five tiny redbud trees were planted in honor of Linda and Tom Owings' grandchildren Cavan, Rowan, Raley, Donny and Lulu.  The trees were a gift for Grandpa Tom's birthday and we know that under his watchful eye and loving care they will grow into strong, healthy and happy little beings just like their namesakes.  Rock on little saplings.
